The Vice-Dean receiving the items
The 2007 graduating class of the Faculty of Agriculture on Friday October 19, 2018 donated items worth Gh. ¢ 5000.00. to their alma mater.
The group represented by Dr. James Osei Mensah, Mrs. Joana Kyeremateng, Mr. Kofi Amponsah, Mr. Kingsley Adade and Mr. Harry Opoku Agyeman presented a set of four (4) PA systems, four (4) laser pointers and one (1) microphone to promote teaching and learning at the Faculty.
In the short ceremony that was witnessed by some staff and students of the Faculty at the Asante Kwatia Auditorium, Mrs. Kyeremateng in her speech updated the gathering of their current status in society a decade after graduating from the Faculty. She acknowledged that the content of the course, the blend of science and other disciplines, has made them versatile and functioning effectively in every field they were placed. A good number of them had switched over from agriculture to the banking sector and to other fields like construction and international consultancy, developing projects for other African countries. Yet, others found themselves in the humanitarian field and occupy respectable positions in Civil Society Organizations. She concluded by acknowledging the value of the strong foundation they had received, and it was in that vein that they showed their appreciation by giving back to the institution that brought them up as responsible members of society.
In his response, the Vice Dean, Dr. Christopher Antwi who represented the Dean of Faculty, lauded the gesture shown by the past students and prayed that other year-groups would emulate such kind gesture. He further expressed his optimism that the items will greatly enhance effective teaching and learning.
